Signature Symphony at Tulsa Community College has announced details for the annual “4th on the 3rd: Spirit of America.” This indoor concert will feature the full orchestra and debut Scott Seaton, the new artistic director for Signature Symphony at TCC. Seaton is only the third artistic director in the 44-year history of the professional orchestra.
“4th on the 3rd: Spirit of America” is 7:30 p.m., Sunday, July 3 at the Performing Arts Center for Education on the TCC Southeast Campus at 81st Street and Highway 169. Tickets are on sale now.
“I can’t wait to officially start this exciting new chapter as Artistic Director of the Signature Symphony with the “4th on the 3rd” concert, a time where we come together as a community and as a nation to celebrate this epic journey that began in 1776,” says Seaton.
With the theme of “Spirit of America”, the concert will feature patriotic favorites such as the “Fanfare for the Common Man,” “God Bless the USA,” and music from John Williams and John Philip Sousa.
“We will highlight some of the most iconic American composers throughout the years – complete with a tribute to our Armed Forces and even some Big Band jazz – and we will even feature James Ross, the audience favorite from the most recent Tulsa Sings!,” adds Seaton.
Signature Symphony is expanding the festivities before the full-orchestra concert with an outdoor pre-concert event complete with music performed by the Signature Jazz Combo and food trucks. Plan to join us near the PACE on the lawn to enjoy music starting at 6 p.m. Individuals can also purchase dinner from food trucks which will include Andolini’s Pizza, Wild Al’s Wings and Things Chicken, Linam Up Grill and Josh’s Sno Shack. Bring your chairs and come early to enjoy the food and live music.
Signature Symphony at TCC contributes to a thriving arts community in the greater Tulsa area as it includes 70 professional musicians who also teach and coach music students at TCC, other colleges and universities, and various public and private schools and studios throughout the area.
