From his first big break in 1957 with lyrics for West Side Story, Stephen Sondheim's work as a composer-lyricist has set the standard for modern American Musical Theater. He has won a record eight Tony Awards (including a special Lifetime Achievement in the Theater Award) and received the Pulitzer Prize for Drama with Sunday in the Park with George. This program features the best of Sondheim's more than 40 years of musical genius. Joining the orchestra will be the Signature Chorale in an evening of selections from Gypsy, Company, Follies, and Sweeney Todd. Great music -- wonderful memories!
